“Yes and no... mostly the candidates that worked the hardest were elected... that's no surprise.  But I was surprised and disappointed by the turnout.  The candidates worked hard and spent a lot of time and money to get the attention of the voters, but to no avail... only 17.3% voted."

“Dad, it looks like more than half were from precincts 1, 2 or 3, that can't be good for our city."

"You're right Becky, and 5 of the 7 winners came from those precincts, it's as if the rest of the city doesn't count or doesn't care."

"Would a ward system help get more involvement?"

"I don't know, but someone once said that people generally get the government they deserve... if they don't vote, they don't deserve good government."
